Hiscox hires Marie Metz to lead Security Incident Response in Latin America

Miami, Florida (23 April 2018) – Specialist insurer Hiscox has appointed Marie Metz as Vice President for the Special Risks department. Based in Miami, her responsibilities will include leading and developing the Security Incident Response (SIR) product in Latin America.

An expert in risk and crisis management, Metz joins Hiscox from partner consultancy Control Risks, where she served on the Crisis and Security Consultancy in Mexico City. While there, her remit included work as a “handholder” for the Response team on K&R cases, crisis management and preventative security engagements for all of Spanish-speaking Latin America. She pioneered the delivery of security awareness trainings for women working and living in Mexico and regions with high rates of femicide.

Prior to moving to Mexico, Metz lived and worked in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a South America security analyst for iJET International. She also worked as a freelance journalist and as a security analyst in Caracas, Venezuela during the October 2012 and April 2013 presidential elections.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Metz holds an MA in international security policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She studied political science and literature at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has a BA in political science from the University of Miami.
